Education is ground zero. It's in play in an unprecedented number of primary races. A lot of that is in response to what hasn't happened.

Public education is probably already the most transparent and accountable of any government system. When do we start talking about resources?

Texas public education definitely doesn't have numbers they can brag about. We can only get so far with the resources that we have. It's simple - teachers are getting involved because they are mad. Really, really mad.

Folks ... are not happy that there's a disconnect between where the leadership wants to go and where the general public is on education issues.

What we are saying to them is, 'Let's do it right,'.

We believe Carole has the best chance of winning in November. She has the money in her campaign, she has the background and she has the best stance on the issues.

We work to elect candidates that believe we have something to offer to the process.

Most of the people of the public education community felt we had a Public Education chair who didn't have a lot of respect for public education employees.

Certainly folks are appearing to be more cordial.

We're increasing our state of readiness and getting our folks in a position to respond quickly. Everyone's going to be real busy with final exams and end-of-year activity, but we'll be making sure folks stay focused.
